The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
Once you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:9, 1 Cor 3:16, 6:19; 2nd Cor 6:16) Who is the seal of salvation for all who believe.
Ezekiel 36:27 “I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in MY statues (decrees, laws, commandments), and you will be careful to observe (meaning to obey) my ordinances (laws, regulations, rules).”
2nd Timothy 1:14 “Guard, through the Holy Spirit who indwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you”
The Holy Spirit seals us” Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. Which is the earnest (meaning pledge) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the Praise of his glory”
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
The Holy Spirit is also called the Comforter (John 14:26; John 16:7), who leads and guides into all truths. If you don’t have the Holy Spirit inside you, then you do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9)
We’re saved – now what?
You now have a citizenship in Heaven: (Ephesians 2:19, John 14:2)
You become joint heirs with Christ: (Romans 8:17, Galatians 3:29)
You become members of the Body/Bride of Christ (Eph 5:25-27; Rev 19:7-9, 21:2,21:9)
You’re a new creature in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You’re Born Again (John 3:3-7)
We come into fellowship with the Trinity
1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
You have eternal life (John 10:28)
You’re Forgiven (Luke 7:48), Justified (Rom 5:1; 4:5), Redeemed (Rev 5:9, 1 Peter 1:18-19)
You’re an ambassador for Christ (2nd Cor 5:20)
We have Jesus Christ as an advocate/mediator in Heaven, interceeding on our behalf (1 John 2:1; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34, Colossians 3:1
1st Timothy 2:5 ““For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”
You’ll receive spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 12)
You have peace with God (Phil 4:7)
You are indwelt by Christ (John 10:28)
You are baptized into Christ body and buried with Christ (1 Cor 12:13, Col 2:10-12, Romans 6:4, Gal 3:27)
We have our name recorded in the book of life in Heaven (Luke 10:20, Phil 4:3)
You cannot lose your salvation (Romans 8:38-39)
John 10:28-29 “I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
If it were true that one could lose their salvation, then why would God put his Spirit inside every believer?
Why would we become new creatures in Christ?
Why does the Holy Spirit seal us unto the day of redemption?
Why is our name written in the lamb book of life?
And if we could lose our salvation, then why is salvation needed?
The bible does not lie, so if anyone tells you that you could lose your salvation, feel free to prove them wrong by the scriptures throughout this lesson.
This concludes the Salvation series. I pray that if one doesn’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that you will make today the day that you trust him. The bible is clear via John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotton son, that whosoever believeth on him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life”
The word of God does not lie, so believe when his word says that Today is the day of salvation, now is the acceptable time (2nd Cor 6:2)
