Bible Study Lesson: Salvation Part 1

What is Salvation?

Salvation means deliverance from harm, suffering, and danger.

Salvation in Christianity, means to be saved from the wrath of God’s judgment of sin.

Romans 5:9 “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.”

Romans 8:1 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness”

1st Thessalonians 1:10 “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, evenJesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

How Can I get Saved?

I’m sure this question has crossed everyone’s mind, either before they actually gave their life to Christ or there is one who is looking to feel the void in their life.

Before I was saved, I knew and I felt that something was missing, I just didn’t realize what that was, until I gave my life to the Lord.

What has happened in the world today is false teachings about salvations and there are too many “doctrines” out there, when the only sound doctrine we should all listen to is from the bible. It’s infallible and it’s the truth. Man-made doctrines are set up to fail, because most of them are not godly, not relating to scriptures, and more importantly, not God inspired.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are actually doctrines that are true, but the difference is that it’s backed up with scripture to prove the point.

So, how can one get saved? Easy……Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ

Don’t believe me? Ok, let me prove the point.

Acts 16:30-31 A jailer ask Paul and Silas “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas responded, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.”

Why do I need to be saved?

Why? Because we were all born with sin (Psalm 51:5) (Romans 3:23), because of what Adam did in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:6-24)

Because we have this glorified infection, it is in every human being to automatically sin. It’s who we are on the surface, unfortunately and we personally choose to sin, according to Ecclesiastes 7:20 and 1 John 1:8.

Sin is sin. No sin is higher than another and vice versa. Sin is the reason we were all born unsaved and sin is what separates us spiritual from God. All sin is committed against God ultimately (Psalm 51:4) and it contradicts who God is, which is perfect and holy.

Based on the fact that we were born with sin, we deserve death (Romans 6:23) and the penalty of sin is death, and it’s a penalty that we just couldn’t afford to pay.

Sin and evil cannot go unpunished, and since God is eternal and infinite (meaning he is pure and without sin), it’s only fair that the punishment for sin is Eternal death.

Which is the reason why we need to be saved.

Stay tuned for the next part……….
