KJV and the Other Versions

Hello peeps,

Ok, one thing that frustrates me is when scripture is twisted and it frustrates me more when some of mankind just twist it so it can benefit them.  Now, if me a mere mortal feels this way, then imagine how God feels?  He spoke the word into existence. Why are people playing with him?  There are now many different versions of the bible out there for the picking but how do we know which one is correct?

We have the:

KJV – King James Version

NIV – New International Version

NLT – New Living Transition

ESV – English Standard Version

NKJV – New King James Version

ASV – American Standard Version

NASB – New American Standard Bible

I’m going to stop right here because I just got bored.  Seriously, these are too many versions.  So I ask again, which one is the true one?

I believe it’s the KJV (not the NKJV) but the original ole KJV bible that everyone and just about their mama has had at some point in their life time.  This is the ONLY TRUE BIBLE.

Why I say the KJV is the true?  well I have at least 2 reasons why.  Here me out.

1)      It’s the closest to the original Hebrew, Latin, and Greek text you’ll ever going to get to.

2)      It’s not sugar coated to make us mere mortals happy.  It’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

3)      It spells out the most important facts, such as Salvation, Heaven, Hell, Jesus being God, the Trinity of God, the Rapture, the 2nd Coming of Christ, the Great Tribulation, Who Satan is, the Fall of man, shall I go on……

4)      It doesn’t need translation, whether we like it or not.  Just because it has “thou” “thee”, “shalt” and other words we don’t use in today’s language, doesn’t mean it hard to understand or it’s not the correct text.  Plus, have you ever read Shakespeare?  That’s all dude wrote in.

I can seriously go on about why with and without research but also how about it just click.  Have you ever read the KJV but also read the different versions with it?  Like http://bible.cc/ or go visit http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Bible/1611_authorized_king_james.htm The site may be overwhelming but it’s right on point with a lot of things and he doesn’t sugar coat for no one.

Here is an example between KJV and NIV with scriptures and how it can be misconstrued

Proverbs 12:16 (KJV)“A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame

Proverbs 12:16 (NIV) “A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.

Do you see a difference here?  This is why a strong concordance is needed when you have bible study on your own or have a KJV with a strong concordance with it so that you’re able to see the true meaning behind the word.  There is a major difference between “wrath” and “annoyance.

Wrath in the bible represents what it’s defined in a dictionary; fury, intense emotion, rage, violent reaction, extreme anger, which is partnered up with action.  In other words, when you get angry to the point where you seek revenge, that’s wrath.  It’s man’s wrath, which will be sinful to another person and unto God.  (just to be clear God’s wrath is different from man’s wrath, will touch on that Lord’s willing at another time)

Annoyance is completely different and much more of an irritation and it’s to be annoyed, not mad, not vengeful.  Everyone can be annoyed.  I think Jesus was annoyed when he was here on earth with dealing with the Pharisees and their posse and I think he’s annoyed with us in Heaven, when we don’t do what the bible says to do.  Example: Someone may cut me off while driving on the road.  I’m highly annoyed but I’m not going to hunt them down in rage.  The line is long at my fav store Sephora and I really have to be somewhere else.  I’m annoyed but I’m not angry to the point of going postal crazy. Everyone knows when they are annoyed and when they are ticked off to the point of extreme anger.  The latter is wrath.  Do you see the point here?

Most versions leave out the Trinity of God, his very deity.  God the Father is the 1st person of the Godhead;  Jesus is God the Son, the 2nd member of the Godhead; The Holy Spirit is the 3rd of the Godhead as the Spirit of God.  God in 3 persons, blessed Trinity.  (you know the song)  To the great one in three.  Seriously, who do you think God was talking to when he said “Let us make men in our image” not the angels, not the plants, not the jedi council (I’m a geek).  No, it was one of the times in the bible where the trinity of God was shown, which is constantly being ignored today and the different versions completely mess that up.  Lets compare and contrast again.

1 John 5:6-8
King James 6.This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because he Spirit is truth. 7. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
All delete verse 7 completely and invent their own fixture in it’s place. NONE of them are worded identically. If God’s word is pure, true, and perfect, there is a problem here

But you why the KJV is the one and true Bible?

The next time you read/study, ask the Holy Spirit for the understanding of his word.  If you’re really the NIV or another version that is not the KJV, ask him to show you the discrepancies.  I had to be shown too because I did very naively think that all versions were true just translated differently.  That’s not the case, my friend.

I’m done for now…..I know this will cause a lot of controversy and as someone who is as Boho-punk that actually tickles me but seriously, the truth needs to be told, all of it.  So here it is.

Remember to stand boldly for Christ and remember that his word should never be compromised by anything or anyone.
